    Renaming Smart Object

    Hi All

Ok as the post says, I need to rename a property in a SO.. What caught me out was that the name of a the propert when viewed in in the SO in VS2005 is different to the name that exists in the DB for that SO. For this reason I am not sure on how to proceed to rename my property.

I thought about renaming it directly in the table as the change is just one letter, however I am not sure what the ramifications are of doing this if there are any?

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!??

    Thanks!!

There may be a better solution out there, but just to be absolutely sure it renames everything, I'd delete the property and re-create it.  Do not alter the table in any way, that will put you in a world of hurt.

If you haven't used the SmartObject yet in a workflow that is in use, sometimes it is just easier to delete the SmartObject, rename the property, and publish it again.  If it is a SmartBox SmartObject and you want to keep the data, make sure you save it someplace so you can reload it.
