Trouble installing - Beta - SQL 2005 Reporting services configuration

I believe I have met the requirements for installing BlackPoint beta.

Standalone MOSS2007, Server 2003, SQL Server 2005 etc.

However, during installation, I am unable to complete a test connection:
    Connecting to

    Website Name: Default Web Site

    Website Virtual Directory: ReportServer

    Reporting instance name: MSSQLSERVER

upon hitting the test connection button I get the Error:

Connection failed: ensure that this instance has been configured, initialized and started up successfully.

It seems that perhaps I have not installed reporting services for SQL, however, my SQL Reporting services configuration Manager says that the service status is running. Also that the instance name is: MSSQLSERVER and the report service virtual directory is: ReportServer

How can I finish up the configuration of K2 BlackPoint?

    Thanks!

Try browsing to the Reporting Services home page with Internet Explorer before configuring blackpoint - sometimes it takes Reporting Services quite a while to start up after an IISReset, which causes the configuration manager's connection to it to time out. This usually works for me.

    Thanks for your help

In IIS, Default Web Site was not running - it was set to use port 80 and I have sharepoint running on that port. I changed Default Web Site to port 10000 and started the site. I was then able to browse to http://localhost:10000/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx and could now see the Report Manager website. I was then also able to continue the BlackPoint installation.

After finishing the configuration, I received the following error message:

    K2HostServer.exe Error:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) click OK to terminate. The installation also finished with errors. I saved the log so let me know if need it - it is quite extensive, however. Below is a snippit of text from the installation log:

Also, I am now able to start the K2 BlackPoint studio but am unable to see BlackPoint in Sharepoint's Solution Management area. When I try to start K2 BlackPoint server from Start -> Programs -> K2 BlackPoint Server it fails with the same error message above.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks again,

    Jason

Please zip up the log files and post back to the thread.  All the files found in C:\Program Files\K2 blackpoint\Configuration\Log.

Re: Trouble installing - Beta - SQL 2005 Reporting services configuration

After a repair attempt, then uninstalling the software via add/remove programs, and re-installing, the installation has completed. The first repair procedure resulted in the same error as above. Then the first uninstall/re-install attempt resulted in the Studio not being installed correctly. The 2nd uninstall/re-install appears to have worked. I'm running through the Getting Started now and all appears to be going well.
