when using the search, the list of results are just links to the individual post, so you don't see the entire thread to get the full context of the post

 i can click the link above the individual post once i've got there to then get the whole thread but i think it would be better to originally link to the thread but get the page opening at the post referred to in the search result (as per the old forums)

I concur with this.  While the "View Complete Thread" link at the bottom left will take you to where you probably want to be (at least, that's where I want to be) I don't think I have ever seen another forum system that works this way.  IMHO the problem is larger, because there is a very good chance that a search will actually yield far more results that necessary in because multiple responses within a thread are returned.  If I get 10 results, and 5 of them are to the same thread, this isn't all that useful.  I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of users do what I do and jump straight to the "View Complete Thread" before reading.  I prefer to see the response in context, because without that the response is of questionable value.

Just my opinion...I could be wrong (again ;-)
