    Delete the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceCode\K2.net Studio

    and re-open K2.net 2003 Studio.

    Help, K2Studio fails at starting...

    Hi

I have a similar problem. If I start the K2.NET 2003 Studio, the programm crash with the same exception as described above. But delete the registry key is not the solution for my problem. The only way to solve it, is to move my user account to a OU with no policy on it. Do you have an idea, wich policy coud be the reason for crashing K2.NET 2003 Studio?

Try deleting the following key (Backup your registry first):

DWORD value called “NoRecentDocsHistory” under the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

This key disables recent document history which K2 studio uses to display recent solutions.

    Hi Eric

Thanks a lot. Thats the solution. But is that enough, or have I to change also the policy? I think the policy will reinsert this key. Is that right?

If that item is managed by a group policy then yes I would expect that you would also have to change the policy so that it does not get reinstated but if it is not then just deleting it from the registry should suffice.

    Attachment: StudioError.jpg

    Hi all,

I just install K2.net Studio 2003 SP4 and K2.net 2003 Service Manager SP4 on my computer (Win Pro SP2 FR).

Service Manager is OK, but when I try to start the studio, I have an error windows (see attached file)... I try to delete all the key on my register, but nothing. Do you have an other solution?

Re: Help, K2Studio fails at starting...

If my French is good enough then that message is just the standard Windows message for when an application crashes.

(K2.net has encountered a problem and must close. We are sorry for any inconvenience. (I’m paraphrasing!)

Any unsaved work that you were working on will have been lost.

    Tell Microsoft about this problem.

We will create an error report that you can send us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.

The buttons at the bottom are just Debug, send report and don’t send, like in the English version.)

Unfortunately the translation is all I can add to help, but now we have established that it is the same error message maybe someone will be able to provide you with a solution.

    Hope this helps

    Matt
