Here at Food Services of America we have been using K2.NET 2003 for over 2 years to handle all of our workflow needs.  I now have a dev workflow server setup with K2 Black Pearl and all the dev tools.  What I need is for someone to point me to the instructions on how to use existing K2.NET 2003 workflows on the Black Pearl server.

I have been tasked with doing a POC-proof of concept on if we can upgrade to K2 Black Pearl on the server side but still use our fully developed K2.NET 2003 solutions while we slowly transition them to Black Pearl.

Hi Scott,

We are planning on releasing a K2.net 2003 to K2 [blackpearl] database migration tool shortly - in the next month or two.  This will enable you to migrate all your K2.net 2003 data to Blackpearl and Start New - or Continue your running process instances in Blackpearl.

The funny thing is that I was able to export a K2.NET 2003 workflow to the server that I upgraded to Black Pearl.  Is this just because the K2.NET 2003 engine is still running with Black Pearl??

Hi Scott,

Yes, I've also seen processes exported from K2.net 2003 Studio to K2 Blackpearl HostServer but that is just because the workflow server is 'listening' on port 5252. I do not think those processes will run on HostServer though - depending on complexity and interaction of course for instance, I know for a fact that HostServer does not yet understand the old K2ROM calls that was used.

We have a workflow developed in K2.net 2003. The application that is integrated with this workflow makes extensive use of K2Rom and K2Mng APIs. We now want to migrate the same application to K2 Black pearl. Could you please let me know if there are any hiccups in doing so? Also is there something like a checklist to be followed while migrating?
