We have two questions about the K2.net 2003 archiving component.

1. After using the archiving application and also the command line tool, we could not understand the meaning of the date range criteria - does it refer to the start date of the process or the end sate or something else ?
   
   
2. We are planning to run the archiving process on our production server, which is heavily used and runs 24h. The K2Log database is huge - about 40 GB. What could be the possible problems and do we need to shut down the system during the archiving ?

1. I am guessing Start Date.

2.  Since the K2Log is purely read only it should not impact end users by while K2 server is running.   If you think you might want to restore something back from Archive to K2Log, you might want to do 3 months of archive at a time rather than a year's worth.

How big is your K2 database and the K2Log transaction log file size?
 

Hi,

We have already completed the archiving part by part every night. The only problem was that K2Archive DB log space was running out. So we made it as big as we could.

Any way, our K2 database is 2,242 MB and K2Log transaction log allocated space is 30,691 MB.
