    K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

I know K2 Blackpearl is not "x64" complient (1), but do you intend to release a 64-bit version in a near future? I don't know how many of your customers would be interested in such a version, however there's a strong demand on our side.

    Hi,

3.5 months later, are there any progress that you can share?  What phase of development is the 64 bit version at?

Having a hint in terms of days, weeks, months, years would be more than appreciated.

I've heard of a 64-bit version supposed to ship with SP1 (somewhere in the first half of 2008).

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

Would that be a native 64 bit or 32-bit certified/supported on the 64-bit OS?

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

The 32-bit version will reportedly be supported on Win 2K3 x64 awaiting the availability of a full 64-bit compatible version of Blackpearl.

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

By end of 2008 are we expecting the 64-bit variants to also work for SQL 2008 64 bit and Win2008 64 bit?

Just curious if anyone is testing against those two new OS/SQL platforms.

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

One of our guys did manage to find a hack to get the current BP SP1 installer to install on Win2K8.  Seems to work with simple testing but of course it's not fully tested.  Based on our previous track record with earlier OS and SQL versions, I would expect full support to come within 90 to 180 days of the MS product RTM availability.

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

Will the following scenario work with the 64 bit version ?

32 bit IIS - K2 blackpearl farm (two servers), that connect to a 64 bit SQL server (with reporting services) ?

So it's the same install file for the 32 bit iis servers and the 64 bit sql server ?

    Thanks,

    Nicolas

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

Yes, this should work. This will even work with the current K2 [blackpearl] SP1 (32-bit) installer. The new 0803 installer provides both 32 + 64 bit platform support as well as several other updates and bug fixes.

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

Oh, before I forget to mention the most important point - 64 bit support has now been released with several other features, including Post SP1 patch roll-up.

This is a streamlined installer to upgrade K2 BP RTM or SP1, or perform a new installation. Download the latest 0803 installer at:

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

I recently installed build 803 on a 64-bit server over the weekend. All components install into the "x86" folder but otherwise things seem to run ok - or at least no strange behaviors so far.

    Re: K2 Blackpearl 64 bits?

Thanks for the update on that. Good to know. I know lots of testing went into it.  Keep us updated on your progress.  I think 64bit is going to be pretty popular.
