Extending the K2 Workspace Worklist to view the worklists of the users you directly manage
Everyone knows that you can use the K2 Workspace to view your worklist. I thought that it would also be useful to show how with a few clicks you can choose to setup the workspace to enable users to view the worklists of users they manage.
- Firstly you need to ensure that you have Active Directory setup so that each person has recorded who their manager is. If you look at a user in Active Directory you can see who their manager is and the people who report to them in the Organization Tab of the Users Properties. With AD setup you can tell K2 to give you access to the worklists of the people a users manages.
- Open the K2 Workspace and select the Management Console. Expand the tree view for the server you wish to manage and right click over Workflow Server and select Edit Settings.
- Select the Advanced settings tab and tick the option for Display Worklist of Managed Users.
- Open the Workspace of a User who manages some users and select the worklist. You should now see their worklist and those of the people they manage
