Thanks for the comments guys, I keep hearing similar thoughts WorTony its going to be an interesting road to see how much empowerment business users demand vs how much IT can/will give. I see a lot of both sides.

_cyclops_ In my experience business users say they want to be able to do this but in reality, devs continue to build these things. There are a few more things to do other than just build the workflow - testing, deployment etc. and business users typically don't want to do this kind of thing. Also how many enterprise ops guys are gonna want to allow business user developed processes to be deployed unchecked on their carefully crafted environments? Microsoft have been pushing this kind of thing since (at least) BizTalk 2000 - it didn't work then and I don;t think it works quite yet.

At the moment, I like to think of this kind of thing as a nice idea/place to head but I think we may still be a distance away from this.

Interesting to see this new feature from Microsoft. I am still wondering if it is going to work for the business user to model processes in a visio diagram. Especially when the end result isn't representing their real business process. If that's not the case, will it still be used?

I do like that we can now visualize the processes using visio, it will help a lot to understand what the process is doing and in what state it is in.

We did a K2 project in 2008 and we had to use two workstations with VS2005 for K2 Designer. All other workstations had VS2008.

It is very bad news we still have to do the same in 2009.

When is K2 Designer going to support VS 2008?

There is a great deal of interest in our organization about VS 2008 compatibiliy. Does the new update fix that problem? If not, is there any way to ultilize VS 2008? We are very reluctant to downgrade our Visual Studio environment just for K2 compatability. Have you any beta versions available to address the VS 2008 problem?
