Greetings all long time no blog (Sorry about that)
So K2 blackmarket is now live and getting some traffic. I am very hopeful that this area will really take off, and provide some tremendous value for everyone. I know when I am trying to do something in a technology I love to have samples, code snippets, widgets and the like. I use www.codeplex.com all the time. I know people are sometimes nervous about submitting something they have done and don't want other people to look it and say "you did this wrong, why did you do that etc." I don't think that will happen in this community, and will work towards discouraging that so please if you have built stuff submit it. If you have ideas and just want help submit that too. 12 months from now I want to have over 100 projects in here of all different kinds, from SmartServices, to web parts and beyond.
Well enough about that, go out browse enjoy.
I also went with Tom "E" Miller last night to the Chicago SharePoint Users Group not a bad turn out there were probably 30 people or so there including Robert Bogue great guy from Indianapolis. Mr Bogue provided further evidence that especially in technology it is a small small world. He is friends with Bob Mixon of K2 Insider and MOSS fame. Also saw old friend Leo Doyle formerly of CorasWorks now with the search technology firm Mondosoft
In this presentation Daryl Rudolph of MAGENIC
presented on InfoPath and forms services etc. He went into everything from building small forms, to data connections. The values add for me was when he was going into publishing these forms as features from visual studio along with a small workflow. I think it took him longer to explain how to do it, that it would have taken for me to build out the form, and the workflow, and publish it with blackpearl. But I digress, this just goes to show what a strong value add we truly are and made me feel good about our future. There were lots of people interested in workflow and I even got to answer a few questions (amazing). This is all just further evidence of what a major impact MOSS and workflow are having in corporate America these days. Everywhere I go it is always a topic of conversation. AWESOME STUFF!!!
